Key Responsibilities:
- Undertakes all clerical duties in accordance with the relevant department manual, and current governing legislation and business rules.
- Provides a confidential customer focused service for all customers of the Health Service.
- Arranges patient bookings, admissions, transfers, and discharges and enters all data into the computerised system, ensuring demographics are updated for all patients.
- Maintains medical records from admission to discharge, including creation, retrieval, filing and batching of medical records requested for Clinical Departments.
- Participates in the workplace emergency procedures, mandatory training, fire, cyclone response, major incident response training and any training as relevant to the position.
- Complies with policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (eg: Business Rules, Equal Opportunity, Occupational Safety).
- Ensures all claims are sent to accounts for processing.
- Training of staff, including relief staff, when required.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in providing clerical and administrative support functions including reception duties.
- Demonstrated well developed computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and other application.
- Demonstrated sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication with ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within a team environment with minimal supervision
- Successful Working with Children Check
- Successful Criminal Record Screening clearance
- Successful Pre-Employment Health Assessment
